So
you want to be a model - All
over the North East there are people aspiring to be the next Heidi Klum or
Elle McPherson. Well, we need you to contact us and let us take some test
shots of you. We will provide you with a mini-portfolio of the shoot and
ask you to sign a model release form. If you make the grade you will
be placed into our model directory and presented to photographers and
agents that visit our studio for other work or assignments.
WHO
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
We
are looking for both Male and Female models of any age however session
models must be over 18. If you are under this age you will only be allowed
to take work from legitimate agents or agencies.
DO
I GET PAID FOR MY TIME?
We
work on a "time for prints" system which is common amongst
photography studios. This simply means that we do not pay models in the
first instance. You are paid by way of a free mini portfolio. You earnings
begin once you make it to our directory and get your first booking.
HOW
MUCH DO I EARN PER SESSION?
How
much you earn is dependant on your fee. We ask that models on our books
make their own arrangements with photographers. Normally you should expect
to charge between £30-£50 per hour depending on experience and style of
photography. The studio would ask for a session fee of £10 per session
from the model leaving the model with the balance.
DO
YOU SUPPLY MAKE UP AND HAIR STYLING?
We
have a hair stylist on hand should you require her services however she
does make a charge as she is independent of the studio. She is a
professional hair stylist and has been in business for over 10 yrs in the
Sunderland area. You should negotiate with her directly about your
requirements prior to attending your session with us.
You are responsible for your own make up.
Remember to use matte or powder foundations as oily or greasy ones tend to
make the skin shiny which is bad for photography.
You can bring as many changes of outfits as
want and any props that you think might make your shoot more imaginative
and exciting. We do have a range of props available however these are
limited.
HOW
LONG IS A SESSION?
Normally
your photographer will book you for a period of about 2-4 hours but some
can be longer. Remember to bring some refreshments with you as it does get
hot and tiring under the lights.
